The Music & History of Leonard Cohen

The music and history of Leonard Cohen Performed by David Stegall & Reid Brooks with The Famous Blue Raincoats The Music & History of Leonard Cohen, a Rockumentary, is a mixture of music and narrative about the life of Leonard Cohen, the Canadian poet, singer-songwriter. Leonard Cohen was one of the most influential songwriters of his generation alongside musicians such as Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Variety magazine called Cohen “a voice of great power .” After Mr. Cohen’s death, Toronto writer, Simon Lewson wrote “Cohen has become to his native Montreal what Elvis Presley is to Memphis and Eva Perón is to Buenos Aires: a demigod or patron saint. His musical and lyrical influence still cultivates a cult-like following and reverberates through generations of new songwriters, transcending genre, culture, or age. Cohen’s words and music will continue to be universal and timeless.” Performed by The Famous Blue Raincoats, the only Leonard Cohen Tribute band in the U.S.
